When Time Stood Still

Amidst the vibrant temple crowd,

As I kept my first foot on the holy ground,

My eyes met a sight so divine,

That could make constellations intertwine…

The moon and the sun knelt on the floor,

A dazzling golden light entered through every door.

Like passionate flames of magic and fire,

All dressed up in a single attire.

The blue majesty ablaze with wisdom anew,

Flakes of love in the air recently blew,

Fire glow like a heaving bosom,

My eyes stunned with growing enthusiasm,

The vigorous inferno at once intimidating,

This scene, however, wasn’t frightening,

Why was all this happening?

A sudden transition took place,

The lights revealed a beautiful face!

Blinded I stood, by the depth of those eyes,

Brilliant blue He was, like the infinite skies!

The heat in the surroundings subsided,

As victorious musical notes and rhythms collided.

The red sizzling floor turned into pure white snow,

Crystal stream of water began to flow.

Tickling my soul, passed a cool breeze,

Calming my spirits, my conscience at ease.

White covered the ground, blue was the color of the roof and wall,

A bed of flowers on the porch and snow clad was the hall.

A magnificent smile lit up my life forever,

Gave me more wisdom than I could ever realize,

A beaming radiance turned a simple room into paradise,

His peacock feather shimmered in those sunny curls,

Around him emerged a lovely group of dancing girls,

His eyes gleamed like the most precious pearls,

Mirrored, in his eyes, a million emotions,

Like they had, within them, deep love oceans,

Like windows to His soul, they were so selfless and kind,

His heart, palpitating, was bigger than any measurement could find.

A heart he owned, bigger than the universe,

So selfless, it could heal the wounded and soften those who curse,

His aura blinded my eyes,

The moon itself bowed in reverence to this angelic rise!

None could bear this ravishing beauty with their human gaze,

For it was something only the divine could praise.

Epitome of the youth he was,

An appealing look with a robust body and lacked any flaws…

Oh! How could I resist talking to His highness,

No! At that moment, He lifted His flute with reasonable shyness.

A human musician couldn’t have ever produced half the grace,

Effortlessly, His lips spilled out immortal tones,

The music flowing like a soft stream through the skin,

And penetrating every inch of one’s soul within,

Goosebumps resembling how rays of the sun compel the grasses to stand and admire,

To witness his Godlike beauty is what we all yearn for and desire.

My eyes were wet,

His warming presence enwrapped me… "How could I get-"

Before I could say anything, the serene charisma mixed with the air…

Tears rolled down my cheeks, yet had the brightest smile I could wear.

“What happened?” I heard my mother,

Dumbstruck as I stood, realizing it was only me who met Krishna, none other!

“Oh! Krishna, it was!” I said breathlessly,

Indeed, it’s the best thing my heart can ever carry!
