The Society of Illusions!

Image
The untrue smiles we spark, Even when within, it's dull and dark, The shallow hearts we bear, And the agony which we carry! It all occurs when youth and disdain marry, Touching the peak of deception, In a world so deceptive as ours, When we hide our scars, With a glamorous mask so hollow, But that's the trend we follow, Fabricating our beads of lies, With an exorbitant necklace of gaiety and pride, Pretending to always be right!  The false promises and distrust, Lie shriveled up deep below the unrevealed bottoms, Of a broken heart

Young Eyes Care for the Eyes Unborn!

What will it bring? Happiness? Colors? Glory? Or decay's heavy burden we carry? Darkness, desolation, things disgraced? Words engraved in History's stones... Will nature's mystery remain unknown? How will Earth tell its painful story? If we usurp its glory, its former glory? 'Mother Nature,' we say in lengthy speeches! For our nations, we make strong pledges! Have we considered harming our mothers? No! They provide, support like no others! Where is our humanity within? When we wield axes, harming forests thin? Captivating flowers, stealing hearts with ease, Have we become heartless, devoid of peace? Plucking twirling dancers in the breeze, Emotions frozen, life's vibrant lease! This is how we've harmed our mother, it's clear, In pain, she pleads, shedding silent tears! She provides all we need and more, A clear blue sky, crystal waters' floor. Sandy beaches, mountains tall, Love flowing from fountains, en...

A Day Without Specs!

Image
Nhea woke up to a blurred world, A day before, her device broke, And everything seemed to faint and whirl! Yes, it was a hazy hour, That’s when she realized her device’s power. As she got up from bed, Toward the kitchen, she fled! To grab a slice of bread. On the way, she banged into an artefact, Which drove her almost dead. Her foot turned red, With darting pain, big tears she shed! All happened because her device broke! She went to have a bath, Couldn’t find the soap, Kept jostling her hands all over. The shower drops fell on her wet face! Leaving her in fog and haze. Nhea got ready for school, She jumbled the socks, One black! One gray! At her school, her friends had nothing to say. All she noticed was her friends laugh! Laugh! Laugh so hard! Her hair all over, For it was her blurred self in the mirror, She couldn’t see! She had to squeeze her eyes, To look at the tiny words, Dancing like mice! When she came back home, Sh...

The King of the Sky!

Image
What's that magnificent thing up there? When I glance, it gives me a glare! Is it a golden ball hanging so high? Or an angry thing in a hot pan fry... It turns my cheeks so red, As if I'm shy!                     It's strange, certainly nice, I can't look at it twice, 'Coz it's bright and fierce, In my eyes, it brings tears, When I look at it straight.  What did God create? It gives warmth and heat and shine and more, It is the king of the sky whom I adore... None other than the red-yellow sun, So golden, bright, the only one!! Elders offer water to him, I guess he's thirsty, for he goes to the gym. Yet he can't get any slim!! But I was wrong, He's so strong...  The Sun God his name, He's got enough fame... 'tis round and far,  The largest star! When the sun is merry, The weather becomes airy...  For it goes in the clouds to relax,  Takes a leave and,  Enjoys some snacks... Its light's all gone,  And it...

How is it up there?

I'm a little bird, I can view the big world! I can sing, I can dance, I can fly, Near your door, on the trees, in the sky, Oh so high, in the brilliant blue sky! In the rain, I go to my nest, Give food to the chicks, then we rest. East or west, wherever I go, I cut through the breezy winds that blow. When the days are stormy,  We hide in our cozy roost,   The fear is up, then the winds halt,  And our horror reduced! Ups and downs for us too,  But we don't sadden, just continue. We're a pretty family,  We sing for people in the dawn, As the day goes by, my chicks play in the lawn. By the time it's dusk,  I gather all the husk. It's fun to flutter and flap in flight, In the nightfall, I hug my chicks so tight! The twilight lullabies,  It's a sweet, quiet evening, A tiring day, yet the beauty is matchless, The silvery moon kisses the world in stress. I gaze at the stars, it's a paradise,  With the sunsets and the sunrise! Away from the hustle,...

Student to Mentor!!!

Image
It has always been my dream to teach. In early childhood, I tried acting like my teachers, I had blackboards at home on which I wrote and taught nobody else but myself, or sometimes I played this with my friends, as most children do when they start going to school. But my dream of teaching was not so finite, which ended with age. I wanted to teach children, share the little knowledge that I had, especially with the ones who had limited sources. By now you must have understood! Yes, I'm going to talk about my journey in the field of Social Work.     How about being a teacher in reality? Somewhat similar, I started with it. Alt hough I had little experience since I have always been teaching my brother, but b eing a 9th grader, I had no idea how things would work in such an organization! "Everything has its first time"... But of course nothing was possible without guidance. A session was conducted explaining how we were going to work and we began. I started mak...

Social Work

Image
Contributing to the society, being socially useful helps us in all aspects of life. We learn to be compassionate to others, alleviate someone’s problem, in short, we learn to put ourselves in the other person’s shoe and   help and guide them properly. Social work flourishes our personality and brings about an overall change in the person which actually shapes one into a true human being, who is responsible and realizes the importance of working for the society. I have also kept myself engaged in social work as I feel it is really important for me as a responsible citizen of my country to contribute as much as I can for its well being. I always like to lend a helping hand, but to start with it professionally, I began to teach unprivileged children of standard 8, 9 and 10 from CBSE board. I am working with the organization, 'Tribes forGOOD'. We were informed about the topics that we had to teach them and  according to that, I prepared the PPT (Power Point Presenta...
